Hisar MP Dushyant Chautala to go for grand marriage

SIRSA Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) from Hisar Dushyant Chautala, whose wedding ceremony will be performed at Gurugram on April 18, will organise two grand receptions in his native village Chautala and Sirsa town.

The MP will hold a function at Chautala village on April 11 for the people of Dabwali sub-division.

On April 13, another function will be held at the cricket ground of the Jan Nayak Chaudhary Devi Lal Vidyapeeth Memorial College (JCDVM) in Sirsa.

Jai Prakash, principal of B Ed college of JCDVM said, “We have sufficient place to accommodat­e about 1 lakh people. We have decided to install water-proof tents in view of the cloudy weather.

Digvijay Singh Chautala, brother of Dushyant Chautala, is overseeing the preparatio­ns.” SIRSA/HISAR:: Wheat crop was flattened in many villages of Sirsa after dust storm hit the area for the past two days.

“Crops got flattened due to dust storms since Wednesday. Even some trees were uprooted,” said farmers Sita Singh, Nayab Singh, Jairnail Singh, Gurnaib Singh of Alikan village of district Sirsa.

About 2.2mm rain in Hisar and dust storm in Sirsa brought down the maximum temperatur­e in the area from 39.0 degrees Celsius to 34.0 degree Celsius. Agricultur­e and meteorolog­ical scientists at Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultur­al University (CCSHAU) suggested that farmers should avoid watering their fields as the crop is ready for harvesting. Dr Raj Singh, head of agricultur­e and meteorolog­y department, said, “Farmers are suggested not to water their fields and they start reaping the crop.” CHANDIGARH::Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Thursday announced that special girdawari in the areas where crops had not been insured under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna (PMFBY) would be carried out to assess the crop loss due to the recent unseasonal rains and hailstorm in parts of the state. The farmers who have insured their crops under the PMFBY would have to inform the insurance agencies, he said.
