Post threatening rivals surfaces on Gounder aide Lahoria’s FB page
JALANDHAR: A day after the Vicky Goundar gang killed three members of the rival outfit near the Aujala bypass on Kahnuwan Road in Gurdaspur, a message threatening rival gangsters Daljeet Singh Bhana, Lawrence Bishnoi, and Jaggu surfaced on Gounder’s close aide Prema Lahoria Facebook page on April 21.
The post on the FB page also has news clippings of “Gurdaspur killings” by the Gounder gang. The post reads: “We are free now and will teach you a lesson. Our work speaks and we don’t have to prove anything.”
“You (Jaggu) are giving hollow threats and are hiding behind others resulting in their death. Come face-to-face if you have the courage. Call your associates Bhana and Lawrence as you cannot do anything singlehandedly. Don’t send threats on the FB from inside the jail.”
Bhana is lodged in the Hoshiarpur jail while Lawrence and Jaggu are in Nabha and Amritsar jails.
Lahoria played a key role in Gounder’s escape from the Nabha jail in November last year, and as per intelligence reports, he is still roaming with the gang kingpin.
As per the police, Lahoria and Gounder were involved in the killing of Sukha Kahlon, also a gangster, who was gunned down when he was being taken to the Nabha jail after a hearing in Jalandhar on January 21, 2015. They had killed Kahlon to avenge their associate Lovely Baba’s murder.
Recently, Bhana’s father Lakhwinder Singh, who lives in New York, had written to Punjab Police seeking security for his son fearing threat to his life. The letter addressed to the Punjab director general of police (DGP) has been forwarded to the Hoshiarpur police and jail authorities with directions to increase the vigil.
Bhana had also sent an application to the jail superintendent seeking more guards near his cell, which has now been turned into a high-security zone.
MOBILE PHONE SEIZED FROM GANGSTER IN JAIL In a search operation in the Hoshiarpur jail on Tuesday, the joint teams of local police and jail authorities seized a mobile phone from Ranbir Singh of Basti Guzan in Jalandhar, a close aide of Bhana, who is lodged there in a double-murder case. Bhana is also an accused in this case. A case under Section 52-A of the Prison Act has been recommended against Ranbir and probe is on to know who delivered the mobile to him.
