Slaughtered piglet thrown inside Sonepat mosque

-

ROHTAK:Mohana village in Sonepat was tense on Friday morning after a slaughtered piglet was found inside a mosque in the village. However, a prompt action by police and long-term HinduMuslim communal harmony in the village averted any major outrage over the incident.

Imam at the mosque, Noor Mohammad, found the piglet inside the mosque around 5:30 am when he had gone for Namaz prayers, after which he alerted the police. A team of police along with forensic experts rushed to spot for investigation.

Mohana station house officer (SHO) Veerbhan said, “There is no tension as such because the Muslim families are satisfied with our action and we will arrest the accused shortly.” The police said a case has been registered under Section 295 (injuring or defiling a place of worship with intent to insult the religion of any class) of the IPC.”
