YASHPAL SINGAL SWORN IN AS CIC
CHANDIGARH: Haryana governor Kaptan Singh Solanki on Friday administered the oath of office and allegiance to new chief information commissioner (CIC) Yash Pal Singal and state information commissioner (SIC) Narender Yadav in a function organised at the Raj Bhawan here.
Finance minister Capt Abhimanyu, Haryana Vidhan Sabha deputy speaker Santosh Yadav, chief secretary DS Dhesi, director general of police (DGP) BS Sandhu, Panchkula MLA Gian Chand Gupta and other senior officers of the state government were also present on the occasion.
Former state DGP, Singal was awarded the police medal for meritorious service in 2001 and president’s police medal for distinguished services in 2010.
An IPS officer of the 1983 batch, Singal remained posted as superintendent of police (SP) in Faridabad, Kurukshetra, Bhiwani, Mahendragarh and Rewari districts, and inspector general (IG) of police, Hisar range.
He also served as the chief of state vigilance bureau, chief of prisons and chief of intelligence.
