MAKE ROAD SAFETY PRIORITY

-

With reference to the HT report “Twin road mishaps snuff out 10 lives” (May 22), the shocking tragedies took place due to negligence and speeding on the road. The authorities concerned should have stringent provisions to check negligent driving and disobeying traffic rules. The crisis is aggravating as errant drivers continue to take human life for granted. This ‘chalta hai’ attitude has virtually got into the minds of the common man. We need safe road system.

Harpreet Sandhu,

Ludhiana failed to devise its foreign policy given changes in the global political scenario. India should worry about the recent visit of US President Donald Trump to Saudi Arabia to strike an arms deal. The Arabian country is friendly with Pakistan and it could be an indirect help to our hostile neighbour. The US is clever to maintain cordial relations with both India and Pakistan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi should realise that visiting countries does not bring positive changes but devising clever strategies does. The foreign policy should help foreign investors know the potential of doing business in a country. We should devise better strategies to negotiate with different stakeholders.

Devinder Singh,

Patiala langars to contribute here. The state government has made a good beginning.

Capt Amar Jeet Kumar,
