Hry to send projects worth ₹17,000cr for Centre’s approval
CHANDIGARH: The Haryana government on Thursday decided to send projects worth about ₹17,363 crore for approval of government of India (GoI) under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojna (PMKSY) up to the year 2021-22.
Stating that it was with an aim to utilise funds available under various government schemes and programmes to realise Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to double farmers income by the year 2022, an official release said that a decision to this effect was taken in a meeting of the statelevel sanctioning committee of PMKSY held under the chairmanship of chief secretary D S Dhesi here.
Dhesi directed the officers of the departments concerned to complete the process in this regard at the earliest and send the same to Government of India by May 31. He also asked them to work expeditiously on the action plan for the year 2017-18.
Principal secretary, agriculture and farmers’ welfare, Abhilaksh Likhi said that agriculture department had been declared as nodal department for the implementation of schemes and programmes concerning different departments under the PMKSY. Therefore, all the departments had been asked to send complete details regarding the schemes of their concerned department at the earliest.
He also said that as the per the directions of the government of India, all kinds of subsidy under the PMKSY is to be directly transferred in the bank accounts of the farmers through direct benefit transfer scheme. He said that an action plan of water conservation and management for effective water use efficiency for the 36 over exploited blocks have been prepared by taking into account the feedback and appropriate projects of all stakeholder department. The total financial outlay of ₹435.23 crore had been made for the action plan for the year 2017-18, he added.
