Labourer who raped minor says wanted revenge from her mother
YAMUNANAGAR: Almost a week after a 21-year-old migrant labourer brutally raped a seven-yearold girl, the accused confessed to the crime saying he wanted to take revenge from the victim’s mother.

Ankit and the victim both belong to Uttar Pradesh and were currentlyresidinginYamunanagar for the past one year.
Though the police officials refused to disclose his statement, sources said the accused reportedly told the police that he was in a relationship with the victim’s mother but later their relationship soured, following which he committed the crime.
According to the police, Ankit committed the crime on May 17 when the girl was alone at her house and he lured her to his rented room.
When her parents, who work in a factory, returned from work they found the girl crying at their house and took her to Yamunanagar civil hospital. The doctors confirmed that she was raped and even removed a coin, matchsticks, pebbles and cotton that the accused had stuffed into her body. Later, the girl was referred to PGI Chandigarh as the victim’s condition deteriorated.
After the arrest, the accused was brought to the district court and was remanded in two days police custody.
The police have booked him under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO). Yamunanagar sadar police station incharge Naresh Sharma said, “Investigation is on to ascertain the reason behind the crime.”
