Man axes woman to death, posts video on Facebook
LUDHIANA :A man axed a 40-yearold woman to death in broad daylight at Kila Raipur village in the district on Sunday and shared on social media a video of himself near the body after committing the crime.
The accused, Maninder Singh of the same village, has been arrested. In the video, the accused is seen claiming that he killed the victim, Sarabjit Kaur, as she was harassing him since she knew about his affair with another woman.
After getting information, additional deputy commissioner of police (ADCP, city 4) Surinder Lamba, assistant commissioner of police (ACP) Ramandeep Bhullar among others reached the spot and initiated investigation in the matter.

FOR POST-MORTEM
A case under section (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered against Maninder. The police sent the body to hospital for post-mortem.
The victim’s daughter Lakhwinder Kaur said her mother went to meet her friend near their house at 12.30pm. When she was returning home, Maninder attacked her mother with an axe, she said. The accused hit her repeatedly till she died.
MURDER COMMITTED IN BROAD DAYLIGHT Lakhwinder said after killing Sarabjit, he took out his mobile phone and started making a video of himself beside the body and fled from the spot.
ACCUSED WAS FED UP OF BLACKMAIL: POLICE Inspector Harjinder Singh said preliminary investigation have revealed that Maninder has relations with a woman from the same village and Surjit was in the know of it. She was allegedly blackmailing Maninder and his lover, he said, adding that he decided to kill her after he got fed up with harassment.
