3 accused of abduction, vehicle theft arrested

GURGAON: Three of the five accused involved in stealing a cab after abducting its driver were nabbed by Gurgaon police on Tuesday.

A team from Palam Vihar crime branch arrested three accused and recovered the stolen Ertiga. The accused are residents of Delhi and other states.

The incident took place on June 11 at Sector 37, in front of Corona Heights apartments.

Inspector Sajjan Singh, in charge, Palam Vihar, crime branch, confirmed the arrest of the three and the recovery of the stolen Ertiga.

“The police are now on the lookout of two other accused involved in the incident,” Singh said.

According to the police, the five accused had earlier stolen a Honda City from New Colony, but they were not able to sell it as it was an old car.

The accused, instead, decided to use that car for carrying out another robbery that could fetch them a handsome sum, an official said.

The three accused have been identified as Shivam, Dalip and Nitin. The two who are still at large are Pawan and Deepak.

A case in this regard was registered at Sector 10 police station under sections 365 (kidnapping), 379B (snatching), 395 (punishment for dacoity) and 397 (robbery or dacoity) of the Indian Penal Code, apart from section 25 of the Arms Act.
