GNDU to consider joint %age of Class-12, JEE

AMRITSAR: Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) announced the counsellin­g schedule for BTech admissions on Wednesday.

Dean academic affairs GNDU professor Subodh Kumar said that the admissions will be based on JEE(mains), 2017 results.

Explaining the details the dean said,”The instructio­ns are directed by the central government and from past three years the university has been following the rules.” “During the admissions, the combined percentage of JEE and Class-12 will be taken into considerat­ion,” he said.

“The state rank of the student also matters in the admission process. He or she should fall in the merit list and have a good state rank. 85 % seats are reserved for students from Punjab and 15% for students from other states,” said Kumar.

The counsellin­g for BTech courses for general category will start from June 19 at 9.30 am onwards on the basis of JEE2017 mains All India CRL .

The counsellin­g for reserved categories will be held on June 22 and 23 in the conference hall of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Bhawan of the university. The dean academic affairs also asked the candidates to bring in person the duly filled counsellin­g performa as available on website.

Kumar said that initially all the admissions made will be on provisiona­l basis.

“If at any stage, any informatio­n furnished by the candidate is found to be fabricated or false, his/her admission will be cancelled,” said Kumar.
