Braid-chopping hysteria continues

LUDHIANA:Six incidents of mysterious braid-chopping were reported from Ludhiana on Thursday night and Friday with two each from the Salem Tabri and Mundiyan areas and one each from Fauji Colony and Luxmi Nagar.

Aarti, 14, of Shamsher Nagar in Luxmi Nagar claimed that on Thursday night she woke with a severe headache to find her hair chopped off. She in now admitted to a private hospital. In the second case, 14-year-old Sharanjit Kaur of Mundiyan area was chopped on Friday, again when she was sleeping.

Vandana, 35, had her hair chopped while she was sleeping in her room, she said. Her mother-in-law, Raj Kali, heard her screams and rushed to her room where she found her unconsciou­s with her braids chopped off.

Rajni of Muniyan fainted at her home, “only to wake up with chopped braids”. A few hours later, Dharshna Rani of the same area was sitting in her house when she someone touched her hair, she said. On checking, she found her braid chopped.

Renu Devi, 26, of Fauji Colony said on Friday morning she was sitting in her room, after morning prayers. She saw the shadow of a cat like creature. She screamed in fear and got unconsciou­s. Her husband, Deepak Kumar, who was outside the house rushed inside. After sometime when she gathered conscious she found her braid was chopped.

A case was reported inNabha in Patiala district too.
