BJP president’s resignation won’t help, says Hooda
ROHTAK: At a time when opposition leaders in Haryana have cornered the Khattar government demanding BJP state president Subhash Barala’s resignation over the Chandigarh stalking incident in which his son is accused of stalking a disc jockey, former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has said Barala’s resignation will not serve any purpose.
The former CM, however, demanded the home ministry to explain to the country why the case against Vikas Barala and his friend Ashish Kumar was diluted by the Chandigarh Police.
“I only demand justice for Varnika Kundu and her family for the horrible incident they had to face. The government must ensure an unbiased trial in the case to the full satisfaction of the victim’s family,” Hooda said.
“Barala’s resignation will not serve any purpose. Even if he resigns, the BJP will continue to be in power and can influence the trial if it has to,” he added.
Hooda also attacked the government over increasing power cuts in the state. He said hundreds of people were coming to him to complain how difficult it has become for them to survive without power in the hot weather.
He also slammed the government for pushing the state into deeper debts, without having shown any development on the ground. “The debt on Haryana has increased from ₹ 71,000 crore in 2014 to ₹1.5 lakh crore,” he said
