Haryana CM announces medical college for Gurgaon
GURGAON: Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar hoisted the tricolour at the Tau Devi Lal stadium on the occasion of the country’s 71st Independence Day.
Speaking on the occasion, Khattar a medical college would be opened at a cost of ₹300 crore in Gurugram. This college would have facility of 750 beds and 150 MBBS seats.
It would be named after Mata Sheetla Devi and would be developed by three agencies namely Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA), Municipal Corporation Gurugram (MCG) and Mata Sheetla Devi Shrine Board. While GMDA and MCG would share 40 per cent each, Shrine Board would contribute 20 per cent in the Medical College.”
He also granted special remission to prisoners who are undergoing sentence as a result of their conviction by the courts of criminal jurisdiction in the state.
The chief minister honoured 43 persons from different streams for excellent achievements and performances to encourage people for the good work, followed by his speech with announcements of various projects and schemes.
Among the awardees was DLF Foundation for its contribution under the corporate social responsibility, Noor Lamba and Vedica Kundu from Gurgaon for securing silver medal in the Paris World School Games 2017 in basketball.
