JAMS MAR BFUHS NEET COUNSELLING

-

FARIDKOT:Amid heavy downpour, high drama was witnessed at Guru Gobind Singh Medical College in Faridkot during counselling by the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS) for admission to MBBS and BDS seats under the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) on Thursday evening.

With thousands of people thronging the venue, only students were allowed inside the auditorium while their parents had to stand in open ground under the rain. Irked by the situation, a few parents landed in scuffle with the guards deputed at the college premises.

They accused the authorities of mis-management and unpreparedness, forcing them to keep standing under heavy rain.

Brijender S Brar, ex-chairman, Punjab Health System Corporation, said, “I came here from Moga for my daughter’s counselling and we have been humiliated. There is only one venue with such little space for counselling. The V-C should take responsibility for this mess.” The chaos led to huge traffic jams outside the medical college as well. Traffic was halted for over an hour outside the college.
