PANCHKULA:ANOTHER core member of the Sirsa-based Dera Sacha Sauda, Dilwar Insan, was arrested on Thursday, on charges of inciting violence in Panchkula, following the conviction of dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim on August 25.

Dilawar, who is the dera’s spokesperson, had given a statement in the media, a day after the court verdict, saying that “injustice” had been done to the sect chief.

His arrest assumes significance as the police are now slowly tightening grip around all close aides of rape convict Gurmeet Ram Rahim.

Earlier, the police had booked dera’s chief spokesperson Aditya Insaan and Ram Rahim’s adopted daughter Honeypreet, who are still at large.

Panchkula police commissioner AS Chawla told HT that the accused was arrested from Sonepat with the help of the local police team headed by SSP Satender Kumar Gupta.

He said that several accused who are already in police custody have revealed that Dilwar’s was supplying weapons and planning arson after Baba’s conviction.

Chawla said that Dera’s several other core teams are under the scanner and they will soon be taken into custody as and when their role is confirmed.

“Dilawar is booked in the same case as Aditya Insaan and Surender Dhiman. He will be produced in the court on Friday in order to seek his police remand,” said Chawla.

‘ESCAPE BID’ CASE

Three more Haryana cops and one cop of Rajasthan police have been arrested in a case pertaining to the escape bid of rape convict Gurmeet Ram Rahim following his conviction by a local CBI court on August 25.

The local court later sent them to a three-day police remand.

Those arrested have been identified as head constable Rajesh Kumar and Amit Kumar, constable Rajesh, and Omprakash of Hamunagarh.

Police said that they were part of Ram Rahim’s official Z plus security and were present in the district court complex in Panchkula when seven cops from Baba’s security team made an attempt to free Ram Rahim when he was being whisked away from court complex after his conviction.

While four cops were arrested last week, police said that the arrest of four more cops on Thursday has further strengthened their case.

Five more commandos are wanted in this case and hunt is on to arrest them, said officials.

Panchkula DCP Manbir Singh said that they have been charged for sedition and attempt to murder.

“SIT formed under ACP Gurgaon Sumer Singh has taken them into custody following their interrogation,” he informed.
