Five of family killed as roadways bus rams into car in Sonepat
TRAGIC Relatives who were in a car behind the victims’ vehicle claim Jhajjar depot bus was speeding; driver flees after the accident
ROHTAK :Five members of a family — from Rohat village in Sonepat — were killed in a collision between their Santro car and a Jhajjar depot Haryana Roadways bus near Rohat village in Sonepat late on Sunday night. After the collision, a part of the Santro got stuck under the bus. It was finally removed from the spot with the help of a tractor.
All five car passengers were critically injured and were pronounced brought dead at a local hospital. They have been identified as Dharambir (45), his wife Asha (41), his brother Raghubir (48), sister-in-law Moorti (49) and nephew Jitender (30).
Relatives following the victims in a Swift Dzire car said they were returning from a relative’s house when the speeding Haryana Roadways bus hit the car in front of them.
“Even we had a narrow escape as our driver acted swifty and managed to avert a collision with the bus,” one of the relatives
claimed. The driver of the bus fled the spot.
The relatives rushed the victims to a nearby hospital, where they were pronounced brought wife Asha (41), his brother Raghubir (48), sister-in-law Moorti (49) and nephew Jitender (30) — all of Rohat village in Sonepat.
