J&K CONGRESS URGES RAHUL TO LEAD PARTY

JAMMU :Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) delegates unanimousl­y authorised Congress president Sonia Gandhi to finalise the AICC delegates and PCC president from Jammu and Kashmir on Monday.

The committee also urged Rahul Gandhi to lead the party in the country, stated a release issued by the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (J&K PCC) here.

A meeting of newly elected PCC delegates from the Jammu province was held here under the chairmansh­ip of Pradesh returning officer (PRO) Hussain Dalwai, MP Rajya Sabha, which was attended by assistant pradesh returning officers (APROS) Maqsood Mirza, Deepak Rathode, PCC president GA Mir and all senior functionar­ies, MLAS/ MLCS and other PCC delegates from all districts and parts of Jammu province.

The resolution presented in the meeting read “A meeting of newly elected PCC delegates from Jammu held here today under the chairmansh­ip of Hussain Dalwai, pradesh returning officer, unanimousl­y authorise Congress president Sonia Gandhi to finalise the list of AICC members and president of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee”.

The resolution was moved by senior leader Thakur Hari Singh and seconded by all senior leaders who included senior vice president Sham Lal Sharma, vice presidents, MLAS and other leaders.

The speakers also urged Rahul Gandhi to lead from the front and take over the leadership of Congress.
