3 killed in K’shetra road accident

KURUKSHETRA : Three people, including a woman, were killed in a road accident near Shahbad town of the Kurukshetra district on Wednesday.

The deceased have been identified as Sewa Singh, his wife Gobind Kaur and a friend Arshad Khan, all residents of Patiala town in Punjab. The police said the accident took place when they were returning to Patiala after attending a bhog ceremony at Jainpur village of Kurukshetra district. A truck coming from the opposite direction hit their Maruti Swift Dzire car on the Shahbad-nalvi road.

A police official said, “The truck driver fled from the spot. We have taken the truck in our possession. While Sewa Singh and Arshad died on the spot, Gobind Kaur died while receiving treatment.
