Germans savour Indian music, food

MARGAO: Over the years we have seen visiting cricket teams develop a liking for Indian food, culture and music, especially the Australian­s, thanks to their stint in the Indian Premier League.

The German under-17 football team is no different. In the last couple of weeks, their liking for Indian food, culture and music (read Bollywood) has only grown.

So what’s their favourite song? “Kala Chashma. They tell me to play that song on the loop and sing along as well,” said the German team liaison officer (TLO). ANTHONY ERVIN FOR DELHI HALF-MARATHON NEW DELHI: Four-time Olympic medallist swimmer Anthony Ervin was named event ambassador of the 10th Airtel Delhi Half Marathon scheduled on November 19. Ervin has the distinctio­n of being the youngest and oldest medal winner in men’s 50m freestyle at Olympics.

He won the 50 metre freestyle gold medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics 16 years after he won his first gold medal in the same event at 2000 Sydney Olympics. BANGALORE BULLS BEAT DABANG DELHI JAIPUR: Bengaluru Bulls beat Dabang Delhi 35-32 in a clash of bottom-placed teams in the Pro Kabaddi League. This was Delhi’s 15th loss of this season. Rohit Kumar (12 points) and Ajay Kumar (10 points) led Bengaluru Bulls charge. Dabang Delhi are bottom of the table in Zone A with 37 points from 21 matches.
