-

PANCHKULA: After Honeypreet, Dera Sacha Sauda chairperson Vipassana faced the interrogation by the Panchkula police as she was grilled for nine hours at the Chandimandir police station on Friday in connection with the August 25 Panchkula violence.

Meanwhile, Honeypreet’s mobile has been found with Vipassana and she handed it over to the police. Sources said she was primarily asked to share details about a meeting that took place inside the Sirsa-based dera on August 17. She was also asked where she was when this meeting was convened. A senior official said she did not give satisfactory answers to many questions.

“For now she has been let off but that does not mean that she is out of our radar. She has to satisfy us that she had no involvement in planning the violence here,” said an official.

“It is matter of investigation whether she deliberately kept silent or she was under pressure of the dera chief or someone else. Anything can happen if she failed to put up her strong defence,” the officer added

Sources said she has been summoned again on Monday for questioning. BOTH QUESTIONED TOGETHER

Vipassana reached the police station in a grey SUV at about 11 am and remained there till 8 pm before she left for Sirsa. Honeypreet, the sources said, was at the police station when Vipassana arrived. They both were questioned together before Honeypreet was taken to the district court complex, from where she was sent to Ambala jail.
