FARIDABAD: A day after a case was registered against self-styled cow vigilantes for resorting to violence against a group of people transporting ‘buffalo meat’, police on Saturday night arrested three people and produced them in a court on Sunday.

The accused were identified as Ram Kishore (21) of Pali village, Dileep Kumar (19), and his brother Lakhan (24) Sons of Peer Colony in Faridabad district.

Additional commissioner of police (ACP) Mujesar Radhey Shyam said, “Efforts are being made to arrest others also.” The police have sent sample of meat recovered for forensic examination to Hisar. The cops had said the veterinary doctor has reported that the meat was that of buffalo. The self-styled cow vigilantes on Friday had assaulted five Muslim men at Bajri in the Nangla-pali area suspecting that they were transporting beef.

Earlier, the Mujesar police had registered case against Azad, Asan, Shehzad, Shakeel and Sonu under Sections 3(13)(1), 8 (13) (3) of the Haryana Gauvansh Sanrakshan and Gausamvardhan Act, 2015 on the complaint of Raj Kumar alias Bittu of Sanjay Colony, Sector 23. Then the police made Kumar accused in the second FIR when they came to know that the meat recovered was that of buffalo not of cow.

DUMMY JATHEDARS HAVE NO RIGHT TO SUMMON ME: BIBI

Terming the parallel “clergy” as “dummy jathedars”, Jagir Kaur said they have no right to summon her, nor does she recognise them as jathedars.

“The way Sikh maryada is being violated by these so-called jathedars is a matter of serious concern. They are working to damage Sikh institutions at the behest of the ruling Congress party and other anti-panthic forces,”
