PREPRIMARY FROM NOV 14
CHANDIGARH: The Punjab government is all set to start pre-primary classes in its schools on November 14 to “uplift of the standard” of education in the state.
Education minister Aruna Chaudhary said the school education department has already commenced the admission process for pre-primary classes from October 25 as per the “Parho Punjab, Parhao Punjab” project, the children in the age group of 3-6 years will be admitted in the pre-primary classes,” she said.
The department will hold a day long training-cumworkshop of all the district education officers (elementary education), deputy district education officers (elementary education), DIET principals and district coordinators would be held at the auditorium of the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) on October 31 to chalk out comprehensive plans for implementation of the initiative.
‘WE ARE LOSING JOBS’ District president of the ’ union, Beant Kaur said their intention on Wednesday was for a peaceful dharna but police didn’t allow them to enter and they were forced to hold a sit-in outside.
She said, “About 54,000 workers are losing jobs, and the administration is wresting our right to protest. This is undemocratic.”
On Thursday, the workers protested outside the residence of MLA Dharambir Agnihotri.
