NO CLEAR EDGE FOR BJP IN GUJARAT

With reference to the editorial ‘In Gujarat, the BJP has an edge’, deep research is required to study the ground realities before reaching at any such conclusion. Religion is a major factor which has been used to polarise people in Gujarat in the past. This factor was not seen in assembly elections in Delhi and Bihar. Everyone knows what happened to the BJP in these elections. Now, the party might scrape through the elections in Gujarat with a narrow margin. But it definitely has no clear edge due to its moves like demonetisa­tion and implementa­tion of the GST, which affected small businessme­n.

BM Singh, Amritsar couple, held by Jihadis, with the help of Pakistan army, the Trump administra­tion seems to have been won over by baubles offered by them. Though Tillerson’s speech is a positive evaluation of Us-india relations, only time will tell if it is followed through.

LJ Singh and shift at both federal and state levels to improve nutrition and standard of education at the school level. The ₹12,000-crore central package must be judiciousl­y used to realise this goal. Making DCS responsibl­e for eliminatio­n of malnutriti­on in their districts is a welcome step. A classroom revolution is needed to save the country. It is aptly written that “if India wishes to benefit from its young demography, it has to work sincerely on education and health”.
