PREM LATA, WIFE OF UNION MINISTER BIRENDER SINGH, PUNCTURES KHATTAR GOVERNMENT’S CLAIMS OF ENDING CORRUPTION IN THE STATE

ROHTAK: Puncturing the claims of the BJP government of ending the ‘vicious cycle of corruption’ in Haryana, ruling party MLA Prem Lata, who is wife of Union minister Birender Singh, on Saturday said small-scale corruption is still going on in the state and people are forced to shell out their hard-earned money to get their works done.

The Uchana Kalan MLA, who was here to attend a meeting of the Chhotu Ram Trust, said the BJP government ended the large-scale corruption, but corruption at the level of junior engineers (JES), patwaris, linemen etc was still going on unchecked.

However, she said, “There has not been a single instance under the BJP regime where crores of rupees were bungled up in any project.”

“Main to ye khud kehti hun ke ye chhote level ke jo aadmi hai, chahe usme JE ho, linemen ho ya patwari ho, inme bhrashtachar abhi bi hai. (I say it myself that among these junior officials, corruption is still there).”

She added, “The villagers, who have to deal with these junior officials, still tell me that they have to pay money to get their works done.”

Prem Lata said that things don’t change in a short period of time and the BJP government is marching on the right path.
