- Abhishek Behl

GURGAON: The CBI on Wednesday had told the Juvenile Justice Board in Gurgaon that the Class 11 student of Ryan International School, apprehended by them for the murder of 8-year-old Pradhyumn Thakur, had confessed to the crime.

The agency said this seeking the custody of the Class 11 boy before the Juvenile Justice Board for establishing the sequence of events and to take him to a place related to the crime. On Wednesday morning, the agency had announced that it had apprehended a Class 11 student of Ryan International School on Tuesday night in connection with Pradhyumn’s murder and rejected the theory of Gurgaon police that bus conductor Ashok Kumar was responsible for the murder.

According to the note, which the agency submitted to the court on Wednesday, it was stated that custodial interrogation and questioning was required to find out if there were other people involved in the crime. Apart from that it wanted the juvenile accused to identify the shop from where the knife was purchased, reconstruct the scene of crime .

On Thursday, the CBI took the 16-year-old juvenile to a ‘specific place’ in connection to the probe.the agency refused to identify the place, but officials said the accused was taken there to verify the contents of his statement.

Sources in the police department meanwhile said that the CBI team had taken the juvenile back to his school in Bhondsi for verification. The CBI team is also likely to question a few more students in connection with the case as there is apprehension that the accused had mentioned the incident to some of his friends. The CBI team apparently also took the Class 11 student to a market in Sohna from where he had allegedly purchased the knife.
