POLICE REMAIN CLUELESS ON CULPRITS, ANNOUNCE ₹2 LAKH REWARD FOR INFO

ROHTAK : The family of the sixyear-old girl who was brutally raped and murdered in Hisar have demanded strict punishment for those involved in this heinous crime.

“Their hands and legs should be chopped off in full public view to shame them for what they have done. If they get away this time, they will do it again and again and make more girls their victim,” said an uncle of the six-year-old.

The family said their girl did not go to school and used to stay at home with her mother.

“She (mother) is in trauma. Her blood pressure has gone down and the doctor has been checking her. We are demanding justice,” the father of the victim said. The Dalit family belonged to Tohana in Fatehabad and had come to Hisar in search of work. They were living in a tented accommodation on a plot in Uklana, where the victim’s father worked as a ragpicker.

The victim had three siblings, an elder brother and sister, and a younger brother, all of who did not attend any school. “The government has now said that they will send the children to school and give them a pucca house,” a relative said.

Meanwhile, the police have failed to make any headway in the case. The special investigation team (SIT) has announced a reward of ₹2 lakh on information that would lead to the arrest of the culprits. The victim was abducted when she was sleeping with her mother in her tent.

Her body was found near the boundary walls of a telephone exchange, which is 200 metres from her tent.

The post-mortem found a wooden stick inserted in her private parts that ruptured her intestines and caused injuries in abdomen.
