Virat, Anushka marry in Italy, will move to Mumbai
MUMBAI: It’s official! After weeks of intense speculation, one of India’s most popular couples – Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma – tied the knot in a private ceremony in Florence, Italy. The wedding ceremony took place on Monday with only close family and friends present.
“The wedding was solemnised as per Hindu rituals. Leading fashion designer, Sabyasachi Mukherjee, had designed the ensembles for both the bride and the groom.
Virat and Anushka will now start inviting their friends and colleagues for the celebrations that will take place in Delhi and Mumbai,” said a source.
Although the couple kept their wedding a guarded affair, they will be hosting a reception in Delhi on December 21 for friends and relatives, which will be followed by a grand reception for film industry friends and cricketers in Mumbai on December 26.
“All the members of the Indian cricket team will be in Mumbai after playing their third and last T20 match against Sri Lanka on December 24 at the Wankhede Stadium,” said the source.
Once Virat and Anushka return to Mumbai from Delhi festivities, they will shift to their new Worli home.

“After that, they both will travel together to South Africa where Virat will lead India’s campaign against South Africa in the upcoming Test, ODIS and T20 series,” said the source.
After spending the New Year’s Eve with Virat, Anushka will return to Mumbai in the first week of January to begin the next schedule of her next film in Mumbai co-starring Shah Rukh Khan.
“Anushka will also start prepping for her new film, Sui Dhaaga that goes on floors in February. She will also get into the marketing and promotions of her next home production, Pari.”
Anushka and Virat also tweeted a joint statement on Monday. “Today, we have promised each other to be bound in love forever. We are truly blessed to share this wonderful news. This beautiful day will be made more special with the love and support of our family of fans and well-wishers. Thank you (all) for being such an important part of our journey.”
