- HT Correspondent

FARIDKOT:THE Shera Khuban gang on Tuesday threatened to eliminate the families of the seven persons, who allegedly attacked a woman Akali Dal leader and then circulated the video on the social media.

It was on December 1 that Jaswinder Kaur, president of woman Akali Dal at Barnala, was attacked in a temple at Tapa Mandi over some issue relating to money. The assailants tore off her clothes and dragged her for a distance while filming the episode. Later, the video went viral on the social media.

Police had registered a case against Som Nath Soni, Vijay Kumar Bunty, Rajwinder Kaur Rani, Kamaldeep Sharma and three unidentified persons. Later, Rajwinder Kaur and Som Nath were given interim bail.

Today an FB post on Shera Khuban Wale’s account, which is followed by 5500 people, warned against sharing the video. The post also threatened to kill the families of the accused, saying they should get ready to face the consequences of their action. “We don’t believe in police investigations. Keep your pistol ready, we will see how many shots you fire. If you have the guts, message us in the inbox,” the post challenged the accused.

Gangster Vicky Gounder, who is on the run, Gurpreet Sekhon, Kulpreet Singh and Neeta Deol are associated with the Shera Khuban group, whose chief, Gurshahid Singh, alias Shera Khuban, was killed by the Punjab police in September 2012.

The post also slams the son of the Akali leader for remaining silent on the “injustice” done to his mother. “It’s due to such reasons that the youth become gangsters,”

reads the post. The post contains several abusive words and a video grab of the assaulted woman Akali leader.

Barnala senior superintendent of police Harjeet Singh Thind told HT that they have asked the cyber cell to track the authenticity of the Facebook post.
