Leaders of the Congress and the Shiromani Akali Dal are handinglove and they are fooling the people of the state. BHAGWANT MANN, AAP leader

AMRITSAR : Aam Aadmi Party’s state president and member of parliament (MP) from Sangrur constituency, Bhagwant Singh Mann, said Tuesday that instead of causing inconvenience to the general public by blocking thoroughfares, the Shiromani Akali Dal’s (SAD) workers and leaders should besiege Punjab chief minister Captain Amrinder Singh’s ‘Moti Mehal’ over their concerns against the government.

Addressing public gatherings in favour of AAP candidates for Amritsar Municipal Corporation, the election of which is being held on December 17, Mann said the Congress and the Akalis are hand-in-glove, and they are “fooling the people” of the state.

“Former deputy chief minister and SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal is trying to resurrect himself which is impossible now as the people of the state have lost faith in him. By blocking national highways, the Akalis are actually degrading their own pity image,” he said.

Mann further said, “Captain and Badal families are once again deceiving the people in the mayoral and Nagar Panchayat elections. But people should this time come out openly against their cunning activities.”

He further added, “A good councillor can change the whole development image of his ward. We have fielded good faces for the party, who will concentrate only on people’s concerns.”

Continuing his attack on the SAD and the Congress, Mann said, “The SAD ruled the state for ten years and now the Congress has been ruling it since the last seven months; but a little rain in Amritsar has brought out the reality about development claims in the holy city.”

Mann said, “The people of the state should ask both the parties that what kind of development they had brought in the last decade.”mann alleged that the ruling party was playing the same “dirty politics” which was played by the SAD during its reign.

“The Congress rejected many nominations of our candidates, which is undemocratic,” he said.
