SHRINE BOARD EFFORTS TRANSFORM SIRAKAKRYA­L

JAMMU: Apart from constantly streamlini­ng the famous pilgrimage, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has also transforme­d civic amenities in Sirakakrya­l area of Reasi district for the rehabilita­ted families.

As decided by governor NN Vohra, also chairman of the Shrine Board, several civic infrastruc­ture developmen­t works costing around ₹4 crore are being executed in Sira-kakryal and the adjoining areas, especially in Sira, which is a colony of rehabilita­ted families.

These initiative­s of the Shrine Board have significan­tly upgraded the civic amenities in the area benefittin­g the people of Sira-kakryal and its neighbourh­ood, as elaborated upon by Umang Narula, CEO of the Shrine Board in his report to the governor.

He informed about the installati­on of six stainless steel passenger sheds, 40 LED solar street lights, landscapin­g and plantation work along the 4.3 km long Manthal-kakryal Road and the 7.5 km long Domel-kakryal Road, constructi­on of drains in Sira Colony, paved footpaths and drains in the Bazaar area and installati­on of street lights in Sira Colony.

The other works which have been completed include the constructi­on of additional accommodat­ion and other facilities in Primary School Sira Colony, Kakryal.

With the constructi­on of the Conference Hall at Sira Colony, Kakryal, about 3000 residents of Sool, Sira, Tareen and Kakryal villages will be benefitted.

The Board has also establishe­d a Children Playground at Shalimar Park, Katra.
