SHRINE BOARD EFFORTS TRANSFORM SIRAKAKRYAL
JAMMU: Apart from constantly streamlining the famous pilgrimage, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has also transformed civic amenities in Sirakakryal area of Reasi district for the rehabilitated families.
As decided by governor NN Vohra, also chairman of the Shrine Board, several civic infrastructure development works costing around ₹4 crore are being executed in Sira-kakryal and the adjoining areas, especially in Sira, which is a colony of rehabilitated families.
These initiatives of the Shrine Board have significantly upgraded the civic amenities in the area benefitting the people of Sira-kakryal and its neighbourhood, as elaborated upon by Umang Narula, CEO of the Shrine Board in his report to the governor.
He informed about the installation of six stainless steel passenger sheds, 40 LED solar street lights, landscaping and plantation work along the 4.3 km long Manthal-kakryal Road and the 7.5 km long Domel-kakryal Road, construction of drains in Sira Colony, paved footpaths and drains in the Bazaar area and installation of street lights in Sira Colony.
The other works which have been completed include the construction of additional accommodation and other facilities in Primary School Sira Colony, Kakryal.
With the construction of the Conference Hall at Sira Colony, Kakryal, about 3000 residents of Sool, Sira, Tareen and Kakryal villages will be benefitted.
The Board has also established a Children Playground at Shalimar Park, Katra.
