CHECK SMUGGLING OF DRUGS

Data from the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) shows that there has been an exponential rise in the use of synthetic or party drugs. This signals that a trend could emerge, of increased number of people abusing these drugs. In spite of the huge quantity of drugs seized, a major chunk slips through and is consumed, mostly by youth, who want to try something new. The NCB data is an eye-opener and its implications must be tackled. However, the authorities also need to be vigilant against the smuggling of drugs. If this does not happen, the country is in for a major problem.
