CHECK SMUGGLING OF DRUGS

-

Data from the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) shows that there has been an exponential rise in the use of synthetic or party drugs. This signals that a trend could emerge, of increased number of people abusing these drugs. In spite of the huge quantity of drugs seized, a major chunk slips through and is consumed, mostly by youth, who want to try something new. The NCB data is an eye-opener and its implications must be tackled. However, the authorities also need to be vigilant against the smuggling of drugs. If this does not happen, the country is in for a major problem.

Arun, Amritsar religion and ordinary people from the atrocities of the Mughal emperors. Their martyrdom and life also needs to be on the curricula of colleges and universities across the country.

Sukhdev Singh Minhas,

Mohali Bhagat Singh or Udham Singh. The solemn and inspiring occasions have been turned into hollow exercises that are treated with indifference. Had the people of Punjab been really influenced by these martyrs, the state would have been the least corrupt and the best place to live in. Let us resign ourselves to the fact that we have reduced our martyrs to pictures and slogans. No one will ever fight against the ills and the corruption like the martyrs did.

Gurpreet Singh,

Chandigarh diverting the attention of citizens from issues like poverty, terrorism and corruption. The country will not progress even if it is made Congress-free. Instead, the route to Fascism starts with a opposition-free country and ends in complete destruction of democratic ethos and values.
