Police yet to verify suicide note, letter
AMRITSAR: Four days after Inderpreet Singh, son of expelled Chief Khalsa Diwan (CKD) president Charanjit Singh Chadha, allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself in his car, police are yet to authenticate the suicide note and a letter purportedly written by him.
The Amritsar police on January 5 had handed over the probe objectionable video showing Chadha with a woman principal, and the subsequent suicide by his son to inspector general (Ig-crime) LK Yadav.
Earlier, the investigation in the case was being conducted by a special investigation team (SIT) formed under the additional deputy commissioner of police-crime (ADCP-C) Harjeet Singh Dhaliwal.
“It is a preliminary stage of investigation. We have to examine the alleged note and letter scientifically. While one letter is in Punjabi the other is is in English. They have to be examined by experts to know if they were written by Inderpreet,” the inspector general (crime) further said.
Adayafterinderpreetcommitted suicide, a suicide note and another letter, purportedly written by him were leaked on Thursday, in which he said the objectionable video was not the only reason that made him end his life. He said a fraud committed by his business partners and a dispute with his younger brother Harjit Singh over family assets also drove him to take the extreme step.
