TRUMP SENDS TOUGH MESSAGE TO PAK

-

US president Donald Trump accusing Pakistan of providing safe haven to terrorists is a severe condemnation of slow techniques of its successive governments to stop terror networks. Pakistan has repeatedly failed to tackle serious issues regarding terrorism and so Trump deserves to be complimented for stern talk. Pakistan should deal with terrorism and stop its dependence on western nations. Moreover, its citizens should be made aware of wrong information disseminated by Pak media regarding treatment of Muslims in India.

Rajendra Aneja ‘Dying cadre’ mooted for rural docs,’’ (January 7). The draconian nomenclature for the cadre of doctors of the rural development department who are likely to be merged with the health department, as ‘dying cadre’, is a flawed proposition. Doctors are universally regarded as life saviours. If the cadre of these young doctors has to remain segregated even in the new department, then what is the harm in retaining them in their parent department itself? These doctors have already served in difficult areas and have decades of service remaining. They should not be made to spend their time in avoidable and expensive litigation throughout their remaining career.
