Polygraph test on kids’ father, wife of accused conducted

KARNAL : More than two months after three minor siblings from Kurukshetra’s Sarsa village were allegedly murdered by their uncle, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the case has got conducted polygraph tests on the children’s father Sonu Malik and main accused Jagdeep Malik’s wife Reena Malik.

The officials associated with the investigation said the tests were conducted at the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), Madhuban, and the report will be submitted to the police in the next three-four days.

With Jagdeep, who had admitted to have shot the children dead in the Morni hills of Panchkula on November 20, already having committed suicide in the Kurukshetra district jail, the investigation officers are finding it difficult to find out whether the Sonu was complicit in the crime.

After confessing to have killed Sameer (11), Simran (8) and Samar (4), Jagdeep had led the police to the spot where their bodies were found on November 21, two days after they went missing.

Jagdeep had earlier told the police that he killed the children in connivance with Sonu, who wanted to marry with a woman, but he changed his statement later claiming that he committed the crime for Sonu’s 11-acre agriculture land.

Suspecting his involvement, Sonu’s wife Sunita Malik had met chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar demanding CBI probe into the case. The CM formed an SIT headed by Karnal SP Jashandeep Randhawa.

Karnal SP Jashandeep Randhawa did not share the details of the polygraph test. A police official said the two were asked over 20 questions each.
