When love triangle turned fatal

HYDERABAD: A 35-year-old man, his 37-year-old lover, her 75-year-old husband and her 21-year-old son were behind the murder of a pregnant woman whose body parts were found in two gunny bags dumped near the Botanical Garden in Hyderabad in January, police said on Tuesday after arresting three people.

The victim, identified as 32-year-old Bingee aka Pinkee from Bihar, was eight months pregnant when she was killed.

Police identified the suspects — Mamata Jha, her husband Anil Jha, their son Amarkanth and Vikas Kashyap, who’s at large — after analysing CCTV videos, Cyberabad police commissioner Sandeep Shandilya said.

The Jha family is from Mohana Malti village in Bihar’s Banka district.

The slain woman is from the same village and she was identified when police reached there with her photo.

Investigation revealed that Pinkee married a man from Chandausi town of UP’S Sambhal district around 13 years ago and had three children with him.

“But she developed an intimacy with Kashyap and left her husband. In January 2017, she returned to her village along with her lover,” the police commissioner said.

In the meantime, the 35-yearold Kashyap got involved in an extramarital affair with Mamata, who then plotted to get rid of Pinkee, investigators said.

Mamata allegedly convinced Kashyap to go to Hyderabad to spend some time with her son, who was working there. The man did accordingly.

“Later, Mamata and her husband joined their son and Kashyap in Hyderabad, where they stayed in a rented house in the Sherlingampally area,” the police chief said.

But a pregnant Pinkee traced them, came to Hyderabad about 45 days ago and started staying with Mamata’s family and Kashyap.

Her arrival made Mamata desperate to get rid of her as Pinkee posed a threat to her illicit affair with Kashyap and also she was a financial liability for them, the top officer said.

In their desperation, Mamata and Kashyap allegedly planned to kill the woman. “She also got husband Anil and son Amarkanth involved,” Shandilya said.

In accordance with the plot, Mamata and Kashyap picked up a fight with the woman and the man pushed her against a wall, he said.
