GUWAHATI: A late strike from Kalu Uche gave Delhi Dynamos FC a solitary-goal win over Northeast United FC in an ISL clash on Wednesday. The clash between the two teams placed at the bottom seemed headed for a draw but Uche, who was brought on by coach Miguel Angel Portugal’s late in the second half, turned the tie in favour of the visitors with a headed goal from inside the box in the 87th minute.

Both sides had already dropped out of the race for a topfour place and it showed on the field. Delhi dominated possession in the first half, but for all their passing, they failed to test the opposition goalkeeper. It took them till about an hour to get their first shot.

Northeast United, on the other hand, had chances but lacked quality in front of goal. In the first half, Seiminlen Doungel had the best chance of the game to open the scoring but the midfielder lacked the necessary composure in front of the goal.

GOA VS CHENNAIYIN MARGAO: FC Goa would look to draw inspiration for their firstleg performance and notch up a win when they meet Chennaiyin FC in their crucial ISL match on Thursday. FC Goa had kicked off their ISL campaign with a 3-2 win over Chennaiyin in Chennai and on Thursday they would look to emulate the feat again at the Nehru Stadium to afloat for a play-off berth.

The Goan side has impressed with its attacking play having scored 29 goals, one less than table toppers Bengaluru FC. But, with their porous defence conceding 25 goals and also not been able to keep a single clean sheet, head coach Sergio Lobera has been a worried man.

In the last three matches, they have collected just one point which has pushed them to sixth place. A win on Thursday will help them move to fifth place and close the gap with the top four.
