P’kula police move court to declare Aditya Insan proclaimed offender
THE COURT ASKED THE POLICE TO PUT UP HIS POSTERS AT PUBLIC PLACES BEFORE DECLARING HIM A PO AND DEFERRED HEARING TO APRIL 20
PANCHKULA: Unable to arrest Dera Sacha Sauda chief spokesperson Aditya Insan for his involvement in the Panchkula violence, the police on Tuesday moved application in the local court to declare him a proclaimed offender (PO).
The moves comes after police could not arrest Aditya even after getting three arrest warrants issued against him.
Hearing the plea, the court has asked the police to put up his posters in his home town and other public places before declaring him as a PO and deferred the hearing to April 20.
Panchkula deputy commissioner of police (DCP) Manveer Singh said the directions of the court will be followed.
As per the police, Aditya was the prime conspirator along with Honeypreet in triggering the violence in Panchkula on August 25 following the conviction of dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim in a rape case.
While Honeypreet is behind bars, police are still struggling to arrest the absconding Aditya and have even increased the bounty offered on him from ₹1 lakh to ₹5 lakh.
Punjab and Haryana high court, which is overseeing the investigations into dera violence, had recently come down heavily on the Haryana Police for their failure to nab him.
Sources in the police said they were planning to release a video of Aditya Insan on the social media to widen the horizon of the ongoing probe.
By being declared a PO, the accused can be arrested by any citizen of India at any time or any place.
