SIRSA COP AMONG 5 BOOKED FOR KIDNAPPING, MURDER OF MAN

HISAR: Police have booked a head constable posted in Sirsa and four others on charges of kidnapping and murder of a 33-year-old man who was found dead in front of his house on Saturday.

Sirsa superinten­dent of police (SP) Simardeep Singh has suspended head constable Vinod Kumar and ordered a department­al inquiry against him.

Additional superinten­dent of police (ASP) Narender Bijarnia has started probe into the matter.

In her statement to the police, the victim’s mother Prakash Kaur Sethi said her son Sachin Kumar (33) was a drug addict and was sent to a rehabilita­tion centre in Rajasthan’s Bhadra area.

“My son had a verbal spat with Pritam Kumar of Bhawdin village and Vinod who were at the rehab centre for some work. Pritam threatened my son with with dire consequenc­es,” she alleged in the complaint.

She said on Saturday, Pritam, Vinod along with Lucky, Prince and another man kidnapped her son and later dumped his body in front of their house.

Station house officer (SHO city) Amit Kumar Beniwal said they have registered a case under Sections 147 (rioting), 149 (unlawful assembly), 365 (kidnapping or abducting to confine person) and 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against the accused.
