ROHTAK COP BOOKED FOR MARITAL RAPE

ROHTAK: A constable was booked on charges of marital rape and cruelty on Thursday, few hours after his wife caught him redhanded with another woman at their residence in Rohtak’s Ekta Colony.

The complainan­t said she had gone to Delhi to her parents house and returned home on Wednesday night, when she caught her husband with another woman.

The eye-witnesses said she thrashed her husband and the woman after locking the door. A high drama was witnessed in the colony, following which the police had to be called to take the cop and the woman away.

The complainan­t then filed a complaint with police, accusing her husband of prostituti­on and polygamy.

She further said that her husband often beats her and her children and indulges in forced sex with her without her consent. Based on her complaint, the cop was booked under Sections 323, 376, 497, 498A and 506 of the IPC.

KHATTAR CALLS ON FAMILY MEMBERS

Later, chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar also called on the family members of Penny.

Interactin­g with mediaperso­ns, the chief minister, said, “I have met the family members of Penny and assured them that the government will do whatever she deserves as per the provisions.“

The chief minister also assured all support to Penny’s family from the government.

In a statement issued earlier, Khattar said the brave officer from Karnal was one of the youngest women pilots of the country. She was a bright student who worked hard to become a pilot and set an example for others to follow.
