All 8 accused remanded in four-day police custody
PANCHKULA: Panchkula chief judicial magistrate (CJM) Rohit Watts on Friday remanded in four-day police custody all the eight accused in the ‘cash for job’ scam involving employees of Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC).
The police told the court that the scam came to the fore after the phone calls of the accused were intercepted on the basis of which they were identified.
The FIR mentioned that the CDS of phone calls were analysed properly on the basis of which HSSC superintendent Subhash Sharma, assistants Rohtash, Sukhwinder Singh and Anil Kumar, Puneet Saini of IT Cell (contractual employee), Balwan Singh, clerk in HUDA, Surender Kumar of irrigation department and one private contractor Dharmender were identified.
It was clear that the accused forged documents with regard to selection of candidates in several recruitments after taking money.

in touch with several candidates for recruitment of clerks and drivers in HSSC. He had also demanded money from one by asking him to meet him personally.
Another accused Balwan Singh was found asking for Rs 4 lakh from a person regarding a clerical recruitment, the FIR mentions.
The police said they wanted to interrogate the accused to recover the cash, get information of other persons involved, how they were able to conduct such activity through systemgenerated records of the department. It was mentioned that after disclosure statements of all the accused, the cash has to be recovered from Faridabad, Gohana, Hisar, Jind, Sonepat etc.
