No cabinet rejig plan: Khattar
Chief minister puts to rest rumours that he will induct fresh faces soon
ROHTAK : Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday claimed there was no plan of cabinet expansion in the state, putting to rest the rumours that he was going to induct fresh faces in cabinet soon.
The rumors regarding a possible cabinet reshuffle or expansion started doing rounds when the government recently withdrew the portfolio of information, public relations and languages from urban local bodies minister Kavita Jain.
“There is no such plan. The media is writing about cabinet expansion on its own. I fail to understand if a call on this issue should be taken by me or by the media,” Khattar said.
He was in Rohtak to attend the Vyapari Sammelan on Sunday.

INCENTIVES FOR TRADERS ANNOUNCED
Addressing the event, Khattar made announcements for traders that included ownership rights for legal occupants of shops for more than 20 years, compensation for loss of stock of buildings, free-of-cost accidental insurance cover and rebate on the collector rate for registry of shops.
He said compensation ranging from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 25 lakh for loss of stock and buildings and free-of-cost accidental insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh would be provided to traders. “In both cases, premium would be paid jointly by the state government and the Haryana Vyapari Kalyan Board. All traders who register themselves with the board would get the cover,” he said.
Khattar said the state government was constantly working for the benefit of traders and has set them free from the ‘inspector raj’. “The entire system has been made online so that traders can not only access e-tendering and enjoy the facility of e-assessment but can also make an appeal online. This would inject transparency in the system and help avoid the harassment of visiting the offices concerned again and again,” he said.
On the recently unearthed cash for job racket by some employees of the Haryana Staff Selection Commission, Khattar said, “Any gang caught in the act of corruption would be dealt with sternly under the law. Hints of corruption thrown by the media or the people would be taken cognisance of.”
The CM also attacked Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, without taking his name, on the issue of SYL canal. “Kuchh sirfire neta jaroor hote hain jo Punjab mein kuchh bhashan dete hain, Haryana mein kuchh aur boltey hain aur Delhi mein Kuch aur bolte hain. In sabse Haryana ki janta ko saavdhan rehna chahiye (Some oversmart politicians give contradicting statements about SYL canal waters in Punjab, Haryana and Delhi to suit their political motives. Haryana residents should be cautious of such politicians),” he said.
