Child protection panel chairperso­n meets Hisar rape survivor family

HISAR: The Haryana state child right protection commission's chairperso­n, Jyoti Benda, on Friday visited the civil hospital at Hisar to inquire about the medical condition of the eight-year-old girl, who was allegedly abducted and raped on late Wednesday night at Rajthal village under Narnaund sub-division of the district. Benda directed the chief medical officer (CMO) to take proper care of the victim and her family members besides starting a counsellin­g session of the victim and her family members.

Benda said, “We have directed the officials concerned to provide two helpers from the civil hospital and one from the commission, who will take care of the child and her family members."

“I also came to know that when the family of the victim took her to Narnaund hospital at around 12am, just after the incident, the attendant at the hospital administer­ed a painkiller injection and sent her back,” he said. She added, “However, her family members have not given any proper statement regarding this, but we assure of appropriat­e action in this case. I have also asked the police to speed-up the investigat­ion.”

‘DURGA VAHINI SQUADS TO CHECK HARASSMENT OF WOMEN’

Khattar said the state government has decided to constitute ‘Durga Vahini’ police squads to check harassment of women at public spaces.

“Apart from this, 1,000 women constables and volunteers will also be recruited to curb crime against women,” he added.
