Two minor girls, teenager gangraped in Haryana

Victims include a 14yearold girl of a Yamunanaga­r village, 15yearold of Panipat village and an 18yearold college girl of Panipat town

KARNAL Three incidents of alleged gangrape, involving two minor girls and a teenager, were reported from Yamunagar and Panipat districts on Sunday.

The Yamunanaga­r police have booked four people for the alleged gangrape of a 14-year-old girl in Mohri village of Yamunanaga­r district on Saturday. However, the police did not disclose the names of the accused, saying investigat­ions were still on.

Talking to Hindustan Times, Yamunanaga­r women police station in-charge Sheelawant­i said the mother of the victim had filed a complaint with the police alleging that her daughter was raped by four people of the same village.

She alleged that the accused reached her house when the victim was alone at the house and they allegedly took her to a dharamshal­a and raped her on late Saturday night. Later, she reached home and narrated the

incident to her mother.

The SHO said the accused have been booked under Section 6 of Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the girl was sent for medical examinatio­n. Her medical report will be sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), Madhuban.

She said the victim told the name of two accused and efforts were on to arrest them.

In another case of alleged gangrape, family members of a 15-year-old girl accused three

youths of gangraping her in a sugarcane field in a Panipat village on Saturday.

The accused have been identified as Junaid, Saabir, and Kaleem of Panipat. Women police station incharge Meena Rani said an FIR was registered against the accused under Section 6 of POCSO Act and efforts were on to arrest them.

In the third incident, the police have arrested two people for the alleged gangrape of an 18-yearold girl who was kidnapped from the Panipat bus stand on April 6.

Police said that they have arrested Kuldeep Singh (27) and Sandeep Kumar (25), residents of Ballah village of Karnal district. The family members of the girl, who is BA first-year student of a college in Panipat, had filed the complaint against Kuldeep for kidnapping her.

Talking to HT, Panipat city SHO Kamaljeet Singh said Kuldeep was arrested after the girl was recovered from a car he was driving near Panchkula on April 19. He said the girl told the police that she was kidnapped and raped by Kuldeep and Sandeep.

He said the police arrested Sandeep from his village on Saturday and during investigat­ion it was found that his car was used for kidnapping.

He said both the accused have been booked under Sections 376 D and 365 of the IPC. In the police complaint, the family members of the victim had stated that she had left for college on April 6, but was kidnapped from the bus stand.
