ICC has set up a panel to devise stricter and heavier sanctions for ball tampering and “other offences indicative of a lack of respect for opponents, the game, umpires, fans and the media”.
ICC gave T20 status to all its 104 members and announced plans to introduce global rankings in the format. Until now, only 18 nations were eligible to play T20 Internationals. The move will ease cricket’s passage to Olympics.
