2ND PHASE OF ANTIDRUG DRIVE FROM MAY 17

LUDHIANA: The second phase of the state government’s programme to free each locality of drugs will be launched on May 17 in Tarn Taran, said anti-drug special task force (STF) chief, ADGP Harpreet Singh Sidhu, on Saturday.

Sidhu held a division-level meeting with the SDMS and police officials of Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Nawanshahr and Hoshiarpur, and asked them to take on the mantle of implementation of the Drug Abuse Prevention Officers (DAPO) programme. The programme is designed as a doorstep model and is aimed at generating a mass movement, whereby each DAPO will aim to make his locality drug-free.
