Fake online call centre busted, four arrested

-

FARIDABAD : A special team of Cyber Crime Cell, Faridabad Police, busted a fake online job call centre and arrested four accused in this connection, a police spokesman said on Saturday. “We got secret information that the accused were involved in an organised online job fraud and cheated unemployed youth, particularly south Indians,” cyber cell inspector Suresh Kumar said.

When the cops conducted a raid on May 1, they arrested some in this office and others in Delhi and recovered some mobile phones, laptop and computer system from their possession.

“The accused used to take record of applicants from a job portal to contact them on phone promising jobs in airlines and hospitality industry in India and abroad and duped them by taking money as their fee. They used to target south Indians so that victims of their cheating could find it difficult to trace them,” police said.

“The accused had also created a commercial mail id in the name of jetairlines.com to cheat innocent people,” a police spokesman said. A case under IT Act has been registered against them at Faridabad police station.
