Woman molested, beaten up in Gurugram office

GURUGRAM: A resident of Gurugram has been booked for allegedly molesting and threatenin­g a woman in Essel Towers on MG Road.the incident took place on Thursday at 10.30pm, the police said.

A case against the accused, Vikrant Kalra, was filed under sections 323, 354, 506 and 509 of the Indian Penal Code at DLF Sector 29 police station.

The case was filed around 2am on Friday by the woman.

The police said that the woman and her male friend were eating together in the latter’s office, when Kalra, who was under the influence of alcohol, entered the office, started abusing the man and beating him up.

The police said that according to the complaint, Kalra was also holding a bottle of liquor in his hand and threatened the two of them. According to the complaint filed with the police, the woman alleged that when she intervened, he hit her and started groping her.

He verbally abused her and fled the scene, she alleged.

The woman suffered injuries to her neck and leg.“a case was registered against the accused at the Sector 29 police station. The matter is being probed,” an officer said.

WOMAN DUPED ON PRETEXT OF MARRIAGE

A Gurugram resident was duped by a fraudster on the pretext of marriage and a complaint has been filed by the woman, the police said.

According to the complaint, the suspect allegedly got in touch with the woman on a social networking site last month, introduced himself as a senior software engineer and started talking to her.

After they started interactin­g regularly, the suspect proposed to her and she accepted. The suspect then allegedly asked the woman for ₹4.6 lakh for a foreign trip. The woman alleged that after getting the money, he stopped talking to her and failed to respond to her messages.
