Three sub-inspectors in each women police station soon: Haryana DGP

PANCHKULA : Haryana director general of police (DGP) B S Sandhu on Wednesday said three women sub-inspectors (SIS) would be appointed in each woman police station in the state to strengthen their functioning
He said the process for recruitment of 73 female SIS has already been initiated and they would be appointed in women police stations. “Apart from 400 male SIS, the process to recruit 7,000 constables including 1,000 female constables is also going on,” he added.
Also a committee of senior police officers would soon be constituted for reviewing the working system of women police stations in the state. “The senior officers would submit a report after reviewing the functioning to improve the working system. A proposal to get funds would soon be sent to the Centre under the police modernisation scheme of union government,” Sandhu said.
Besides, woman helpline number 1091 would be linked with centralised monitoring system so as to ensure its monitoring at the level of police headquarters.
This will help in providing immediate assistance to the women in the light of any untoward incident, Sandhu said
ON-JOB TRAINING
The DGP said, “We are planning to start on-job training for our women police staff at the police stations by appointing retired police officers for the purpose. Also special training sessions would be conducted.”
