GURUGRAM: A woman has registered a complaint with the Udyog Vihar police on Sunday alleging that her neighbour raped her multiple times and threatened to release an offensive video that he made of her if she dared resist.

The police said they are yet to arrest the accused, as he is on the run.

According to the police, the accused had helped the victim and her husband two years ago when the latter was terminally ill. The woman, a resident of Dundahera, told police that the accused had helped her deal with her husband’s critical illness several times.

She said that after her husband died, he raped her multiple times over a period of two years and threatened to release the video that he made of her in the social media if she doesn’t comply.

“The accused has been identified and investigations are on to trace the accused,” inspector Ajaybir, station house officer (SHO) of Udyog Vihar police station said.

On Friday, three unidentified persons were booked for allegedly raping a pregnant woman.

The woman, a resident of Manesar, said she was riding a shared autorickshaw on May 21 when one of the accused allegedly shoved a pill down her throat after which she lost consciousness.

She said that on regaining consciousness, she found herself in a secluded spot, with her clothes torn. She said she realised she had been raped after feeling excruciating pain in her private parts.

On May 18, a 48-year-old woman had registered a complaint with the police claiming that a resident of Trilokpuri in New Delhi forced her into a physical relationship on the pretext of marriage. Police said the accused and the victim had developed a friendship on Whatsapp.

As many as 135 cases of rape and 133 cases under the POCSO Act were registered last year, up from 131 and 120 such cases in 2016.
