‘Apprise people of govt’s initiative­s’

CHANDIGARH: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national general secretary Arun Singh discussed various activities, including a ‘sampark abhiyan’ (contact campaign) to be undertaken ahead of the polls, with the Haryana chief minister, ministers, MLAS and party office-bearers here on Thursday.

Elaboratin­g upon the ‘‘sampark abhiyan’, Singh exhorted the state party leaders to hold interactio­ns with intellectu­als and well-known people in Haryana and apprise them of the schemes, initiative­s and successes of the central and state government­s and take their feedback.

Around 4,000 party representa­tives, including the CM, ministers, MLAS and heads of various party wings and government bodies, were asked to undertake the said exercise till June 11.

Besides holding 25 such meetings, they were asked to interact with at least 50 people at the booth-level.

He also exhorted them to hold interactio­ns with the beneficiar­ies of various welfare schemes.

Speaking on the occasion, Khattar said that while the Opposition had no issues to raise, it is time the BJP apprised more people about the government initiative­s and successes.

He referred to various on-line facilities and transfer policies of the BJP government in the state..
